Universal Studios Hollywood today offered a glimpse at the creation of the park’s forthcoming first high-speed outdoor roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.
The attraction, announced last year, is set for launch in 2026, but the park’s minions have already made significant progress on the track which will guide the “groundbreaking 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as they rocket along.” The goal is to create a sensation of drifting cars as guests spin in motion at furiously fast speeds.
The newly-released video shows construction of the ride’s massive loop which will likely set the individual cars adrift.

As part of the reveal, Universal Studios Hollywood also announced that the last day to experience Fast & Furious — Supercharged, the franchise’s current incarnataion at Universal Studios Hollywood, is March 10. Supercharged debuted in 2015 and has been the grand finale on the lot’s Studios Tour. The closure of Supercharged “will pave the way for an exciting all-new Studio Tour attraction to be announced soon,” according to park officials.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. Guests will queue up within a large, red brick, garage-style structure before getting into the ride vehicles, modeled after several cars featured in the films before catapulting along an aerial track that winds its way over the theme park.
