Caen are set to appoint Gérard Prêcheur as technical director, the first step taken by Kylian Mbappé after his takeover of the club.
The Bondy native has completed his takeover of Caen as majority owner after buying out former owner Pierre-Antin Capton for €20m. The Frenchman has already started taking steps to reorganise the club, which is expected to appoint a new technical director.
According to RMC Sport, Caen are set to recruit Gérard Prêcheur as technical director to oversee the development of the team, which is looking to move up from the second division of French football. Prêcheur was the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s team until September 2023.
Gerard Prêcheur arrives
After Mbappé bought the struggling club, the Ligue 2 side are hoping to start their comeback. The club have been playing in the second division since their relegation from Ligue 1 at the end of the 2018-19 season, which saw them finish in 19th place, only ahead of Guingamp.
The French club will begin their Ligue 2 season with a clash against Paris FC on August 17, while Mbappe will likely make his league debut for Real Madrid a day later against Mallorca.
