As reported earlier today, Barcelona are eager to sign a new left-winger in the summer, apart from bringing in a new defensive pivot and possibly an attacking midfielder as well.

The Catalans are eager to add a left-sided winger who can add more directness and penetration on the flank, given that the likes of Ferran Torres, Joao Felix, and Raphinha are not naturals in the position.

To that end, SPORT reports that Barcelona are looking at as many as five possible options to reinforce the left side of the attack in the summer.

Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)

The Arsenal forward has been on the radars of Barcelona for quite some time now and his evolution under Mikel Arteta seems to have further solidified their interest in him.

Martinelli, 22, has netted eight goals and set up five more this season in all competitions. However, he has a contract until 2027 with an option for an additional year, meaning he will cost big bucks.

Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Another Premier League forward who has been on Barça’s agenda for some time, Kaoru Mitoma has been a revelation at Brighton.

The Japanese international has spent the last two months out injured, but his pedigree and quality are undoubted. However, like Martinelli, he too has a contract that runs until 2027.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli)

Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has a lot of admirers at Barcelona for his style of play, with the club even getting a close look at him in the Champions League this season when they faced Napoli.

The Serie A side are planning to offer Kvaratskhelia a new contract, but the winger is prepared to stall negotiations in hope of joining Barcelona should the Catalans conjure up the funds.

Leroy Sane (Bayern Munich)

The German international has recently been linked with Barcelona, mostly owing to the fact that his contract with the Bavarian giants expires in the summer of 2025.

A versatile player with years of top-level experience at Man City and Bayern, and in the prime years of his career, Sane can be a quality signing for the Catalans, provided he does not renew with his current club.

Nico Williams (Athletic Club)

The final name on the list happens to be one close to home in the form of Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. The Spanish international signed a new contract last year but has a relatively affordable release clause.

Barcelona are great admirers of Nico and the player seems to enjoy a good camaraderie with some of the Catalans’ stars when they meet up in the Spain national team camp.
