The Foo Fighters are reportedly taking a “hiatus” from performing after their frontman Dave Grohl revealed he welcomed a baby with a mistress.

“He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family,” a source told the US Sun on Saturday.

“Being on the road isn’t the best thing for any of them at the moment. It feels like a hiatus is the best thing for them collectively.”

The insider explained that Grohl’s bandmates also need to spend time with their families and “focus on regrouping.”

“It’s been a turbulent few years, with the loss of their best friend, drummer Taylor Hawkins [in March 2022], the death of Dave’s mum and now the birth of his new child,” the source added.

Reps for the Foo Fighters weren’t immediately available for comment.

The report comes after the rock group unexpectedly canceled their appearance at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut.

The festival, which was scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, would’ve been the band’s first performance since Grohl’s bombshell baby news earlier this month.

The 55-year-old singer told his followers that he welcomed a daughter outside of his marriage to wife Jordyn Blum and plans “to be a loving and supportive parent” to the new baby.

Grohl added in his statement he loves his wife and their three daughters, Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10, and was working to “regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

Blum, who married the rock star in August 2003, has since been spotted without her wedding ring.

The Foo Fighters previously took a brief hiatus in 2022 when Hawkins died in his hotel room ahead of a scheduled concert in Colombia.

The drummer, who was 50 years old, reportedly had an enlarged heart, which potentially led to cardiac arrest. It was also reported that at least 10 different drugs were found in his system.

Following the tragedy, the Foo Fighters canceled their world tour before revealing they would continue performing in December of that year.
