The FA Cup has taken centre-stage this weekend with Premier League action to return on Tuesday evening.

Of the traditional top six, only Manchester City remain, and Pep Guardiola's side are into the semi-finals after beating Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium.

In the other FA Cup tie, Aston Villa knocked out Preston North End to join Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, with Marcus Rashford bagging a double.

City will now face Forest and Palace take on Villa in two mouthwatering semi-final encounters.

New target

Arsenal are reportedly looking at making a summer move for Viktor Gyokeres.

David Ornstein at The Athletic reports the Gunners see the Swede as a potential striker option in the summer.

Arsenal confirmed that former Atletico Madrid director of football Andrea Berta was Edu's replacement as technical director.

He is a huge fan of the Sporting Lisbon forward, who is expected to leave the Portuguese giants this summer.

Of course, given his connection to Ruben Amorim, Manchester United are also strongly interested in Gyokeres, but it appears as if the Gunners are ready to compete.

Haaland latest

Manchester City are into the last four of the FA Cup, but they did lose Erling Haaland to injury.

The striker had a weird afternoon as he saw his penalty saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga before missing a one-on-one.

He then slotted home at the start of the second half before suffering an ankle issue.

After the game, Pep Guardiola was asked to provide an update, and he sort of provided one.

Speaking to ITV, he said: "I don't know. I don't know yet. We will have to see."

So, I guess we'll just wait on that one.

Bournemouth 1-2 Man City - FULL TIME

There is the final whistle, and Manchester City's hopes of winning something are still alive.

The Citizens will compete in their seventh consecutive FA Cup semi-final, and they will face Nottingham Forest at Wembley.

Bournemouth just didn't live up to their high standards and turned in a poor second-half display.

However, Pep Guardiola deserves credit for introducing Nico O'Reilly, who has set up both of City's goals.

The only concern for them is that Erling Haaland limped off after scoring with what appeared to be an ankle problem.

Bournemouth 1-2 Man City

We have seven minutes of added time on the south coast.

The home fans are encouraged, but they've offered nothing in the second 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, Man City are looking to finish this one off.

Kevin De Bruyne sees a strike blocked before the ball runs to James McAtee, and his effort is stopped by Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Bournemouth 1-2 Man City - Chance

So close to it being game over!

Jack Grealish picks up the ball on the left and dribbles into the box.

He twists, turns and creates space for a pass.

Grealish picks out Ilkay Gundogan, and strikes a low effort off the outside of the post.

Bournemouth 1-2 Man City

Pep Guardiola decides it is time for Jack Grealish.

The winger comes onto the field in place of Phil Foden, who was very quiet.

Grealish missed out on the England squad last time and will need to re-establish himself in the City starting XI if he is to have any chance of going to the World Cup next year.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-2 Man City - Omar Marmoush

TALK ABOUT THAT FOR IMPACT!

Omar Marmoush has immediately scored, but it is Nico O'Reilly who is the creator again.

A ball is played through towards O'Reilly, Antoine Semenyo reads it and slides in, but the ball runs for the City man.

He takes a touch and pokes a pass into Marmoush, who strikes a weak effort at goal that goes straight through Kepa Arrizabalaga.

No Erling Haaland, no problem!

Bournemouth 1-1 Man City

Potential problem for Erling Haaland here.

The striker gets in a tangle with Lewis Cook and lands on the concrete just in front of the stands.

He clearly has some issue, and even after some treatment, he sits down.

Haaland can't carry on, and Omar Marmoush is the man to replace him.

There is a bit of nonsense between the two sets of players as Bournemouth refuse to put the ball out of play because it isn't a head injury, so they have every right to carry on.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-1 Man City - Erling Haaland

REDEMPTION!

Bournemouth get caught out on the left, and Kevin De Bruyne picks out Nico O'Reilly.

The substitute could go for goal, but he looks up and sees Erling Haaland at the far post.

He sets him up perfectly, and Haaland stabs the ball into the net from five yards.

Game on!

Bournemouth 1-0 Man City - Kick-off

We are back underway for the second half, and Manchester City have made a change.

Abdukodir Khusanov has been taken off.

Nico O'Reilly is the man to replace him, and he has slotted in at left-back, with Josko Gvardiol moving into the middle of defence.

Khusanov had been booked in the first half, but it's unclear why he's the one to come off.

Bournemouth 1-0 Man City - HALF TIME

That is the end of the first 45 minutes, and Bournemouth are in the lead.

As it stands, they will be going to the FA Cup semi-final and not Manchester City.

However, if the Citizens had taken their chances, it would have been very different.

Erling Haaland has missed two big opportunities and also seen his penalty saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Down the other end, the Cherries have scored through their only real chance as Evanilson converted Justin Kluivert's cross/shot after Haaland was denied from the spot.

Bournemouth 1-0 Man City - Chance

The hosts are awarded a free-kick on the left, and David Brooks delivers.

It is a lovely, delicate chip into the area that Ilkay Gundogan gets something on.

In truth, it's a good job he does because if not, three Bournemouth players were queuing up waiting to head home.

The resulting corner comes to nothing, but it is so far so good for Andoni Iraola's men.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 Man City - Evanilson

JUST LIKE THAT, BOURNEMOUTH LEAD!

Matheus Nunes gifts possession to Lewis Cook in midfield, and he works it into David Brooks.

Brooks delivers a dream of a cross to the far post, and there is Justin Kluivert.

The Dutchman directs an effort past Ederson that is slammed into the back of the net by Evanilson before it can cross the line.

What a start to the game this has been!

Bournemouth 0-0 Man City - Chance

What is happening to Erling Haaland?

After missing a penalty, he is played in on goal.

He's onside as he races into the box and tries to chip Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He gets the first bit right by clearing the goalkeeper, but he also clears the crossbar as well, leaving Pep Guardiola in shock.

Bournemouth 0-0 Man City - SAVED

WOW! ERLING HAALAND IS DENIED, AND THE VITALITY HAS ERUPTED!

The big striker tries to drill the ball into the bottom left-hand-corner.

Kepa Arrizabalaga guesses the right way and makes the stop.

Crucially, he also holds on, so Haaland can't pounce on the rebound.

Bournemouth 0-0 Man City - PENALTY

Man City have an early penalty!

Bernardo Silva tries to flick a ball over Tyler Adams.

The American runs in and has his arm raised as he tries to make the tackle.

It hits his hand, and the referee points straight to the spot.

Erling Haaland to take...

Bournemouth 0-0 Man City

Absolute mess at the back!

A long ball from Bournemouth is pumped forward, and Ruben Dias plays a horrible pass back to Ederson.

It nearly deceives him, but he just about stabs it away as far as Tyler Adams.

He is chopped down on the edge of the area, and Justin Kluivert steps up to send a free-kick almost out of the stadium.

Bournemouth 0-0 Man City

The home faithful aren't happy with the referee as Ilkay Gundogan goes steaming into a tackle on Antoine Semenyo.

The German is full-blooded and probably makes the slightest contact on the ball.

However, he also gets a lot of the man, but he gets away without being booked.

Bournemouth vs Man City - Kick-off

Here we are then, it is the final FA Cup quarter-final of the season, and Bournemouth take on Manchester City.

The Cherries nearly went out of the football league 16 years ago, but are now on the cusp of making their first FA Cup semi-final appearance.

It really could be a special day, and a win for them would blow the competition wide open.

Meanwhile, for City, this is their last chance for silverware, and we are underway at the Vitality.

Bournemouth vs Man City: Team news

Okay, three FA Cup quarter-finals down, one to go.

Manchester City's last chance of any silverware is the FA Cup, and if they go out here, it will be the first time since 2017 they haven't won anything.

In truth, they probably wouldn't have wanted to face Bournemouth after losing to them earlier this season.

And the teams are in!

Unfortunately, Andoni Iraola is without Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez through suspension, but the rest of the team is as strong as it could be.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has named an extremely strong starting XI.

Bournemouth: Kepa, Cook, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Soler, Christie, Adams, Brooks, Kluivert, Semenyo, Evanilson

Subs: Winterburn, Scott, Ouattara, Smith, Jebbison, Hill, Dennis, Silcott-Duberry, Akinmboni

Man City: Ederson, Nunes, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Gundogan, Bernardo, De Bruyne, Foden, Haaland

Subs: Ortega, Marmoush, Grealish, Doku, Gonzalez, Reis, O'Reilly, Lewis, McAtee

'Enjoying my football'

Aston Villa's goalscoring hero today was Marcus Rashford as he grabbed two in the 3-0 win over Preston North End.

The England international appears to be enjoying life at Villa Park and spoke to the BBC after helping his new team to the FA Cup semi-finals, where they will face Crystal Palace.

He said: "It's a great feeling.

"I think I can still get fitter, but I am just enjoying my football, so I am all good.

"We have to take it one game at a time and give 100 per cent, and we'll see where it takes us.

"We are a very ambitious team, we want to win and try to get as far as we can in all competitions."

FA Cup semi-final draw

And just like that, it is over!

No matter what, we were going to have some intriguing ties, and we've got two crackers.

The winner of Bournemouth and Manchester City takes on Nottingham Forest, which wouldn't be easy for either side.

And in the other tie, Crystal Palace are going to take on Aston Villa.

Again, what a brilliant tie.

FA Cup semi-final draw

Okay, here we go.

We are going to find out the FA Cup semi-finals.

Crystal PalaceAston VillaAFC Bournemouth or Manchester CityNottingham Forest

Preston North End 0-3 Aston Villa - FULL TIME

The referee blows the final whistle, and that is the end of Preston North End's FA Cup run.

Ultimately, the Championship side didn't quite have the quality to compete with Aston Villa, who were frustrated until Marcus Rashford's opener.

The England international then doubled the lead from the penalty spot before Jacob Ramsey wrapped things up.

Unai Emery's men march on towards the semi-finals and a trip to Wembley.

They are two wins away from winning the FA Cup.

The draw should be very shortly, so stay tuned.

Worrying

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has had to withdraw from AC Milan's game against Napoli this evening to have an emergency operation.

Reports in Italy suggest the midfielder has suffered an issue with his appendix, which needs to be removed.

As a result, he will be in hospital when his side take on Antonio Conte and co.

Hopefully, everything works out well for Loftus-Cheek, and he's back on the pitch soon.
