‘For All Mankind’ Adds Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz & Ines Asserson To Season 5 Cast

EXCLUSIVE: Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Ruby Cruz (Bottoms) and Ines Asserson (Royalteen) are set as series regulars in Season 5 of Apple TV+‘s For All Mankind. They join previously announced new series regulars Mireille Enos and Costa Ronin and returning cast Joel Kinnaman, Wrenn Schmidt, Krys Marshall, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, Toby Kebbell, Tyner Rushing, Daniel Stern and Svetlana Efremova.

Season 4 of For All Mankind picked up eight years after the events of Season 3, when Happy Valley rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars by turning former foes into partners. Now 2003, the focus of the space program turns to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they were working toward.

Kaufman will play Alex Poletov Baldwin, son of Kelly Baldwin (Wu) and Ed (Kinnaman). Cruz will portray Lily Dale, the youngest daughter of Miles and Amanda Dale (played by Kebbell and Shannon Lucio). Asserson will play A.J. Jarrett,’ a US Marine training for a space mission.  

For All Mankind, produced by Sony Pictures Television, is created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners for Season 5 and executive produce alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, as well as David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, Seth Edelstein and Kira Snyder.

Kaufman portrayed Steven in the first two seasons of The Summer I Turned Pretty. His other television credits include Manifest, FBI Most Wanted and Walker. He’s repped by CESD Talent Agency, Tsu Tsu Unlimited and Jackoway Austen Tyerman, Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein.

Cruz was most recently seen as one of the young stars in Orion’s critical darling Bottoms opposite Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri. On the television side, Cruz co-starred in Disney+ series Willow as Princess Kit. She’ll next be seen in indie feature The Threesome, opposite Jonah Hauer King and Zoey Deutch. Upcoming on the TV side, she’ll appear in a major recurring role in The Sex Lives of College Girls. She’s repped by Gersh and Landsburg Management.

Asserson will next be seen in CBS drama series King and Conqueror. Her previous credits include 2022’s Royalteen and TV series Heirs of the Night. She’s repped by CAA, Artists First & The Artists Partnership.
