A major European club confirmed the departure of its coach this Wednesday.
It was anticipated, it is now official: Xavi is no longer the coach of FC Barcelona. The Catalan club announced this Wednesday the departure of the technician, after an agreement reached for a termination of contract.
Linked to Barça until 2025, Xavi had initially planned to leave his longtime club this summer. After announcing his departure, the Catalan reversed his decision. But he will not honor the end of his lease.

“ FC Barcelona and Xavi Hernández Creus have reached an agreement to terminate the contract that the coach and his team had with the Club until the end of the 2024/25 season, can we read in an official Barça press release. The Club would like to publicly thank Xavi and the rest of his coaching staff for their commitment, dedication and generosity, as well as for their assistance in reaching an agreement to terminate the contract. Barcelona will therefore begin a new chapter in its history under the tutelage of another coach. It should be the German Hansi Flick, former coach of Bayern Munich and ex-Germany coach.
