A big name in European football is already considering ending his adventure with his new club.
At 35, after the end of his contract with Borussia Dortmund, Mats Hummels chose a new challenge by joining AS Roma this summer. Unfortunately for the German, he quickly became a secondary choice for coach Ivan Jurić, behind Evan Ndicka.
This situation would be far from satisfying the 2014 world champion. Since the start of the season, the rock of Bergisch Gladbach has only played 23 minutes, it was when he came into play against Fiorentina (5-1 defeat) this Sunday in Serie A.
A departure in sight this winter?
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, the former Bayern Munich player could leave the Italian capital as early as the next winter transfer window. However, he has a contract running until June 2025 with the Giallorossi.
However, Hummels was coming off a solid season with BVB. True boss of Dortmund’s defense, he played a crucial role in the success of the German club, finalist in the Champions League against Real Madrid (2-0 defeat) and fifth in the league.
