Brighton loanee Denis Undav could be set to start for Germany at Euro 2024 following his excellent season, according to Andy Brassell.

The 27-year-old completed a loan move away from the Seagulls and to Bundesliga side Stuttgart in the summer.

Undav scored eight goals in 30 appearances for Brighton last season but has gone one step further back in his home country.

Stuttgart's star has scored 14 goals and provided a further five assists in 19 appearances across all competitions this season.

He is the fourth top scorer in the Bundesliga [13], but is still 11 behind leader Harry Kane [24].

Undav does, though, have a better goals per 90 rate (1.03) than Kane (1.22).

His efforts have helped the club to challenge for a top four finish in the Bundesliga having fought off relegation last season.

As a result, European football reporter Brassell told talkSPORT about what key role he could play at Euro 2024 this summer for Germany.

"In third place you have Stuttgart who won 3-1 at Freiburg at the weekend," he said on Hawksbee and Jacobs on Monday afternoon.

"Their on loan Brighton player, Denis Undav, of course Roberto De Zerbi was a little bit reluctant to loan him out but he did, 13 goals in 12 Bundesliga starts so far this season.

"Scored and two assists [against Freiburg], I reckon he'll be leading the line for Germany come Euro 2024, he could be one of the stars of the tournament."

Undav is yet to make an international appearance for Germany but this could certainly change if he continues his fine form for Stuttgart.

He missed their opening three Bundesliga matches this season whilst recovering from a torn ligament injury but assisted off the bench on his debut in a 3-1 win at Mainz.

The striker scored his first goal for Stuttgart at the end of September when netting twice in their 2-0 victory against Koln.

Brighton CEO reveals that they've already got a replacement for Roberto De Zerbi planned amid Manchester City and Real Madrid links

Undav has only added to his tally since then, and even scored a hat-trick against RB Leipzig last month.

With a tough competition for places up front at Brighton, his loan to the Bundesliga could prove fruitful for his international career as Germany eye their fourth Euros title this summer.

Joao Pedro has been a big hit for the Seagulls this season having scored 19 goals in all competitions, with Evan Ferguson and Danny Welbeck also on target.
