Shyne Barrow has shared his reaction to Diddy‘s arrest and felony charges. The former Bad Boy artist spoke out just days after New York prosecutors charged Sean Combs with racketeering and sex trafficking.

A judge remanded Sean Combs into custody on Tuesday (Sept. 17), and another rejected his bail appeal on Sept. 18. This means Diddy will remain behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, before and during his trial.

Here’s What Shyne Barrow Said About His Former Boss’ Arrest

Speaking to his hometown press this week, Shyne clarified that he’s not rejoicing in anyone’s downfall. However, he emphasized that Diddy is also someone who “ruined” his life. The politician shared that at the time, he was “just a kid,” trying to make his mother and Belize proud while trying to gain recognition for his talents.

“I was defending [Diddy] and he turnt around and called witnesses to testify against me and he pretty much sent me to prison. So that is the context by which you must always describe that relationship. Yes, I forgave, I moved on, but let us not pretend as if I was in Miami for Thanksgiving and Christmas…Let us not loose sight of what the cold, hard facts are. This is not someone who I vacationed with and he and I enjoyed this great, intimate relationship of brotherhood. This is someoene who destroyed my life.”

Shyne Barrow added that he may have considered accepting resources from Combs to benefit his country. But, again, he clarified that Diddy destroyed his life. Swipe below to see everything Shyne said below.

Former Rapper Spoke About Diddy’s Lawsuits Earlier This Year

These days, Barrow is a Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives. However, in the late 1990s, he performed rap songs like ‘Bad Boyz’ as Shyne, a Bad Boy artist.

Then, on Dec. 27, 1999, a fight broke out at Club New York in NYC. Shyne, Diddy, and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were all in the building. Ultimately, three bystanders suffered gunshot wounds. Diddy and J. Lo had reportedly fled the scene, but police later arrested them after tracking them down and finding a concealed weapon in their car. Lopez’s charges were later dropped, and Diddy was acquitted in 2001.

Meanwhile, Shyne Barrow, who was 21 when the shooting happened, was convicted of assault and sentenced to 10 years in prison. After Shyne’s release in 2009, the United States deported him to Belize, a country he had reportedly left at seven years old. Earlier this year, Barrow told the Belizean press that “everyone knew all along that [he] was the fall guy.”

Earlier this year, the former rapper penned an open letter supporting the Diddy’s “victims.” His statement came after CNN released the 2016 surveillance footage of Combs assaulting Cassie in a hotel hallway.
