Following the season-ending knee injury to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, FC Barcelona are considering the possibility of signing a replacement for the goalkeeper.

There is no clear target in mind at this point, with the club assessing their options as they can opt to make an emergency free-agent signing right away or wait until January to sign someone from a different club.

While both options are being assessed, a former Barcelona goalkeeper has come forward and offered his services to the club.

Claudio Bravo ready to come out of retirement

Indeed, former Barcelona and Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has claimed that he would be ready to come out of retirement if the club approached him.

Bravo officially announced his retirement less than a month ago, in August, bringing an end to his career after a stint at Real Betis.

But, the ex-Chile international has claimed that he would be willing to return if Barcelona asked him to.

“If Barcelona want me, I will be ready to come out of retirement”, he told WinWin All Sports, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Bravo spent two seasons at Barcelona, arriving from Real Sociedad in 2014 before leaving for Manchester City in 2016.

During that period, the Chilean made 75 appearances, keeping 43 clean sheets, and winning eight trophies, including the historic treble in his debut season.

The 41-year-old has previously gone on record stating that he and Ter Stegen did not always see eye-to-eye during their time together at Barça.

However, he would now be open to making a comeback from retirement to help the Catalans if they want him.
