Two-time Premier League winner William Gallas believes that Chelsea should look at bringing Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford in the summer.
Chelsea enjoyed a late win over United on Thursday night in the Premier League just days before dropping points against relegation contenders Sheffield United, despite leading twice at Bramall Lane.
The outcome at Sheffield United has put Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino under more pressure, but there must be an acceptance of a poor season from this point. Chelsea are ninth in the Premier League and it looks like their new owners are the Glazers 2.0, who are more interested in tourists than season ticket holders.
While Todd Boehly faces the prospect of another revamp in the summer, and nobody is certain if anyone at the club has an idea what to do, former Chelsea defender William Gallas says he wants to see a move for two United players. The 46-year-old claims Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes would fix a lot of problems at Stamford Bridge.
“Both Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could be good options for Chelsea,” Gallas told Gambling Zone. “Both are quality players. Bruno could definitely be the kind of midfielder who has the quality to play in the number ten role where Chelsea lack strength.
“Chelsea are a team of young players and Bruno Fernandes has the leadership qualities to get through certain periods.”
The first thought that came to my mind reading these quotes was why on earth does Gallas think Rashford or Fernandes would have any interest in joining Chelsea?
Of course, after winning back-to-back titles at Chelsea, the former France international left Stamford Bridge to join their rivals Arsenal, where he won nothing.
