According to rumours, José Mourinho, the former manager of Manchester United, may be eyeing the Bayern Munich role as his next managerial gig.

Following a humiliating 3-0 loss for the defending champions in their pivotal match against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, Thomas Tuchel is under pressure.

Germany’s dominant team, Bayern, have won the most league championships in the league’s history. In 2012, Borussia Dortmund was the last different team to win the Bundesliga; nevertheless, Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen are about to end the Bavarians’ incredible run.

Mourinho is eager to manage Bayern Munich, according to Bild, and reporter Christian Falk has stated that the former manager of Chelsea, United, and Tottenham Hotspur would be ready to step in if the chance presented itself.

“I heard he’s learning German. He has flirted with the office in the past. He would be ready,” Falk said.

Mourinho’s most recent managerial position was with AS Roma, when he was hired a month after Spurs fired him in April 2021.

With his departure from Spurs, it was the first time in his career that he left a club without a trophy since 2002.

Before being fired by Roma this year, the 61-year-old stayed in Italy for just under three years.

After signing with the Reds in 2016, Mourinho spent two and a half years at Old Trafford, winning the Europa League and the EFL Cup in his first season.

His start at United made him the first manager in the club’s history to win a major trophy in his debut season at the club.

Speculation in the media has linked Mourinho to a number of clubs, including United.
