Founder, Abisola Omisore Education Support Initiative, Abisola Omisore, has distributed over 250 free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination forms to indigenes of the Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State.
A statement by Omisore’s office said the gesture showed relentless commitment to the educational development of the council.
The beneficiaries who were indigent UTME applicants would also be assisted in completing their registration process.
Omisore, in the statement, assured that the gesture would be expanded if elected as chairman of Ikeja LGA in the forthcoming council election.
Speaking further, he promised that scholarships would be awarded to no fewer than three students with the highest UTME scores in the 2025 examination.
“I am passionate about investing in the youths who will lead the country in future and I know that this can be better done through education for everyone irrespective of tribe and gender.
“And if allowed to lead the council, going forward, residents of Ikeja will see a better service from the council under my administration,” Omisore said.
Earlier, one of the beneficiaries, Abimbola Agbeniga, who intends to study Economics at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State, expressed gladness that she was relieved of the stress and financial burden of obtaining the form and filling the documents.
“I do not doubt that if I study hard and get higher scores during the UTME examinations, I will get the scholarship which I know will relieve my parents of the burden to pay my tuition fee in school,” Agbeniga said.
