The Ike Odoeme Foundation has launched Project Mount at Saint Cyprian Anglican Church, an initiative aimed at empowering youths and women across Imo State and beyond.
A statement by the foundation noted that in response to Nigeria’s growing economic challenges, Project Mount offered a lifeline through skills development, community empowerment, business support, and interest-free loans.
It noted that the initiative would be ongoing year-round, with businesses being selected each year for different phases.
The foundation disclosed that Project Mount would support 40 youths with N500,000 each for business and farming, and 200 women with N100,000 each for similar ventures.
It added that it would provide N10 million in interest-free loans to businesses and invest N50 million in the ‘Nwa Boi’ Global Apprenticeship Hub to empower youth further.
Dr Poly Mbah of the Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, remarked, “Crop farming is the backbone of sustainable communities,” emphasizing the importance of discipline when planting.
“Project Mount’s multifaceted approach is designed to address the specific needs of youths, women, and micro, small, and medium enterprises,” he stated.
The founder of the Ike Odoeme Foundation, Ikenna Odoeme, said, “This is just the beginning. We envision a future where every young person and woman in Nigeria has access to the resources they need to thrive.”
“Project Mount is not just about empowering individuals, but about creating a ripple effect where those empowered can help themselves and, in turn, help others. Together, we can build stronger, more resilient communities,” Odoeme added.
Odoeme declared that the Ike Odoeme Foundation was committed to scaling Project Mount across Nigeria, with plans to reach more communities in the coming years.
Obasi Joseph, a content creator and businessman, added, “How seriously you take an opportunity determines how far you will go. Project Mount is that opportunity for many, and those who seize it with determination will pave their way to a brighter future.”
