‘Fox & Hare Save The Forest’ Sells To 50+ Territories For Urban Ahead Of Berlinale Premiere – EFM

EXCLUSIVE: Urban Sales has unveiled key deals for Mascha Halberstad’s CGI animation Fox And Hare Save The Forest ahead of its world premiere in the Berlin Film Festival’s young audience-focused Generation Kplus sidebar this weekend.

The company has sold the movie into more than 50 territories including to France (Eurozoom), Germany (Neue Visionen), Poland (New Horizons), CIS (Russian Report), Baltic Countries (Garsu Pasaulio Irasai), Norway and Denmark (Another World) and Sweden (Njuta), MENA (Selim Ramia & Co), Ex-Yugoslavia (Kino Mediteran), Czech Republic & Slovakia (Aero Films), Hungary (Mozinet), Turkey (BG Film), Romania (Bad Unicorn) and Benelux (Periscoop).

The film follows protagonists Fox and Hare as they race to stop the flooding of their forest following the construction of a large dam by a megalomaniac beaver that sends water flowing into their woodland home.

In the backdrop, mischievous Rats are wreaking havoc in the neighborhood and their dear friend Owl has disappeared. It’s a situation that will push their friendships to the limits.

The animated feature is Dutch filmmaker and illustrator Halberstad’s second movie after Oink’s Revenge (2022) which also premiered in the Berlinale Generation program and played a raft of other festivals worldwide.

Halberstad’s previous credits include short animations Goodbye Mister De Vies (2012), Munya in Me (2013); 13-episode animation series Picknick with Cake (2011), which was won Cinekid Kinderkast Fiction Jury Prize; Christmas Special The Great Hummimummi (2017) and the animated series Fox and Hare (2018), which won the Cinekid Audience Award.

The film is produced by Janneke Van de Kerkhof, Bruno Felix at Amsterdam-based Submarine; Eric Goossens and Anton Roebben at Belgian company Walking the Dog and David Mouraire, Emmanuelle Vincent and Pierre Urbain at Luxembourg‘s Doghouse Films.
