Trey Yingst has been promoted to chief foreign correspondent, while he will publish an account of his coverage of the Hamas attacks on Israel for the network’s book imprint.
Yingst joined the network in 2018 as a foreign correspondent. Since then, he has reported on the war in Ukraine and the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, and he embedded with the Hamas’s Al-Qassam brigades and the Israeli military. He also has interviewed Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leader of the Haqqani Terror Network, Anas Haqqani.
The book, Black Saturday, will be published by Fox News Books on Oct. 1. Yingst was in Tel Aviv at when the surprise Hamas attacks on Israel started. The book will be “a vivid picture of horrors and violence, matched by acts of courage and humanity that cut through the darkness on the morning of October 7th,” the network said. It will include interviews with released hostages, Israeli soldiers and Palestinian civilians, as well as Israeli and Hamas leaders.
In a statement, Suzanne Scott, the CEO of Fox News Media, said that Yingst “has been the eyes and ears on the ground for our viewers since 2018. Trey’s indefatigable work ethic and dedication in multiple war zones has made him an incredible asset to Fox News and we are extremely proud of his first-class journalism.”
