The Paris Criminal Court will rule on May 15 on complaints of racism filed following the 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina.

A month and a half later, justice is called to decide in a case dating back to the final of the 2022 World Cup and the defeat of the Blues on penalties against Argentina. The unfortunate outcome of this meeting had given rise to unacceptable excesses on social networks. And in particular racist attacks against several French players.

On December 21, 2022, the French Football Federation (FFF) and SOS Racisme filed a complaint against X for these odious insults and other scandalous montages. Among which is a doctored photo of Lionel Messi flanked by an SS armband and holding the Tricolores Kylian Mbappé, Randal Kolo Muani, Kingsley Coman and Aurélien Tchouaméni at the end of a rope.

Two men and a woman in the dock

For different reasons, these four elements of Didier Deschamps’ group had been particularly targeted: Mbappé for his aura, Kolo Muani for his final opportunity rejected by the Argentine goalkeeper in extra time, Coman and Tchouaméni for their missed shots on goal.

L’Equipe reports this Monday that three people – two men and a woman – will appear on May 15 at the Paris criminal court for their involvement in these violent and racist smear campaigns. These individuals will face the following charges: “ public insult because of origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion ” And ” public incitement to hatred or violence because of origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion “.
