The French team faces its German counterpart this Saturday in a friendly match. Didier Deschamps has already worked on a system that gives a glimpse of the composition of the Blues.
In less than three months, the France team will head to Germany to compete in Euro 2024 (June 14-July 14). In the meantime, it is the Germans who are coming to her this Saturday, as part of a friendly meeting which will take place at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon (9 p.m.). For this match, Didier Deschamps is putting together his team, the probable composition of which some media have already revealed.
If Antoine Griezmann has already withdrawn from the two upcoming matches against Germany and Chile, another absence seems to be confirmed since Mike Maignan suffers from tendon pain in his hamstrings and missed the collective session on Wednesday. A decision will be made this Thursday regarding the international goalkeeper. From then on, it is Brice Samba who should be lined up against the Mannschaft.
4-3-3 rather than 4-4-2
According to The Parisian, the defensive hinge will be made up of Benjamin Pavard and Dayot Upamecano, while Jules Koundé and Lucas Hernandez will occupy the right and left lanes respectively. In a formation organized in 4-3-3, the French midfielder will see the association of Warre Zaire-Emery, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Adrien Rabiot. As for the offensive line, Kylian Mbappé will start on the left, Ousmane Dembélé on the right and Marcus Thuram at the forefront.
The option of a 4-4-2 with the incorporation of Eduardo Camavinga in an asymmetrical midfield was also a possibility for Didier Deschamps, but the media therefore explained that the French coach preferred to go with a more offensive system. We now have to wait to know the names of the eleven starters who will start against the Germans. The Blues have revenge to take since they were beaten during their last meeting against them last September, already in a friendly (2-1).
The probable composition of the Blues
France: Samba – Koundé, Pavard, Upamecano, L. Hernandez – Zaire-Emery, Tchouaméni, Rabiot – Dembélé, Thuram, Mbappé
