EXCLUSIVE: France tv distribution has acquired international sales rights to Nicolas Keitel’s lost sister drama The Girl Without A Name (Louise) starring Diane Rouxel alongside Cécile de France and Salomé Dewaels.

The company will launch international sales on the picture at Unifrance’s French-language film-focused Rendez-Vous in Paris meeting next week.

The drama is one of the first productions to come out of Gabman, the Paris-based company created by Mars Films co-founder and CODA associate producer Valerie Garcia in 2022.

Rouxel (Beasts, Head Above Water) stars as Marion, a woman who runs away from home as a teenager and assumes a new identity when her mother (de France) gets back together with a violent partner.

Some 15 years later, Marion decides to seek out the younger sister Jeanne (Dewaels) she left behind as a small child, who is now forging a career as a singer.

When it becomes apparent that Jeanne does not recognize her sibling, Marion introduces herself as a woman called Louise who wants to write an article about her work.

The ruse sets in motion a game of deception which stirs up the past and leads Marion to cross paths with the mother she turned her back on.

The picture is Keitel’s first feature after short film Un Bon Copain about a father dealing with the unravelling of his family after the son witnesses an accident.

Further partners on the movie include Jean-Baptiste Dupont’s Paris-based company La Boétie (All Because Of The Cat) as well as Belgian production company and financier Scope Pictures, broadcaster RTBF and streaming platform VOO Be tv.

The film will be released in French cinemas this year by UGC Distribution and Originals Factory.

The Girl Without A Name is the debut film by Nicolas Keitel, and we are thrilled to support its journey, debuting at the Paris Rendez-vous,” said France tv distribution‘s VP International Sales Alexandre René  and SVP International Sales Julia Schulte.

“After fleeing her troubled childhood, Marion reconnects with her sister 15 years later, hoping to piece together the fragments of her identity. A powerful drama that will leave no one indifferent.”
