Frank Lampard saw the funny side to questions about the viral meme of his interviews - no, but seriously, he's cool with it.

The former Chelsea and Everton man is renowned for being one of the Premier League's greatest players, but he's also known for one of the funniest managerial quirks around.

Since stepping into management, Lampard built the hilarious habit of starting an answer with a smile and a joke, before sharply finishing his answer with a serious, downbeat response and facial expression.

It's something that supporters love him for and speaking on The Overlap, Jamie Carragher couldn't resist asking him about it.

Carragher said: “You must be aware when you do your interviews that you laugh and then go serious..."

“Yeah, I’ve seen that," Lampard replied. "My daughter showed it to me,” leading to laughs from Carragher, Gary Neville and Ian Wright.

“You’re going to go looking for it now!”

Asked if he was aware that he was doing it, Lampard said: “No, but I’m trying to stop it now!

“I have – my daughter said it to me ages ago and said it was a meme or whatever it is they call? I don’t even really know.

“But now I’ve seen it I can’t unsee it.

“I’ve done a few press conference where you do it and then you go ‘ah s***’, I can’t help it!”

Lampard is currently out of work following spells as manager of Derby, Chelsea and Everton, where he helped the club to avoid relegation.
