Frankie Kazarian gets candid about the breakup of SCU.
The partnership between Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels extends back more than a decade, with the two first joining forces in TNA Wrestling. In 2017, the duo welcomed a third member into their circle, namely Scorpio Sky. Together, Kazarian, Daniels, and Sky were known as SoCal Uncensored (later shortened to SCU), with their most recent stint taking place under the banner of All Elite Wrestling. In 2021, the trio notably split, as Sky began teaming with Ethan Page instead, while Kazarian and Daniels lost a team-ending match to The Young Bucks.
On Monday evening, a fan posted a message to Kazarian on X (formerly Twitter), indicating that they missed seeing SCU perform together. In response, Kazarian invoked a promo line from former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho.
“Thank you. SCU was special,” Kazarian wrote. “Should have NEVER been broken up. But, we were and it was a very [stupid idea from bad creative].”
Shortly after he and Daniels lost to The Young Bucks in AEW, Frankie Kazarian returned to TNA/Impact Wrestling, with his sights set on The Elite (Kenny Omega, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson). By late 2022, Kazarian officially rejoined TNA as a full-time roster member. As of this writing, Daniels and Sky remain a part of the AEW roster.
Kazarian and Daniels briefly reunited on the 2024 Jericho Cruise with a victory over Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen).
