A potential political turmoil is raging in Rivers State as a top ally of Nyesom Wike publicly criticized Governor Siminalayi Fubara, unleashing a barrage of insults in a viral video posted on his official platform.
Addressing his supporters in Omerelu Community, the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike who is a strong ally of former Governor Wike, accused Fubara of incompetence. The rift between Fubara and Wike emerged in 2023, leading to a struggle for dominance in the state.
Loyal to Wike, Nwanosike alleged that Fubara, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, has failed to achieve anything for Rivers State. He stated, “Any day the likes of Chijioke sent by Fubara insults Wike, I’ll insult Fubara, so today, Fubara is a foolish Governor, he’s not a ‘mumu’ Governor but a foolish Governor because since he took office in May 29th, he has done nothing for Rivers people.”
Nwanosike refuted claims that Wike aimed to control Rivers State entirely, asserting that Fubara is “very naive and doesn’t know what governance is all about.” He pointed to deteriorating infrastructure like the Igirita roundabout and rampant security issues, criticizing Fubara’s governance.
