An insider shared that Affleck’s friends and family, including ex-wife Jennifer Garner, are concerned the actor may be falling back into unhealthy patterns, likening his behaviour to that of a “love addict” following his sobriety.

The source revealed to In Touch that, “Ben has an addictive personality, and many believe that now that he’s sober. He’s turned to seeking thrills through romantic entanglements.” Also added, “The back-and-forth with J. Lo seems to give him a buzz, though he insists he’s only looking for some lighthearted fun.”
Garner is particularly worried about the situation. “She thinks it’s a terrible idea,” the insider stated. “Not only is he potentially confusing J. Lo, but it’s also sending mixed signals to their kids, which isn’t healthy. This is setting everyone up for an emotional roller-coaster. It appears he’s slipping back into a toxic pattern, which ultimately won’t benefit anyone.”
The insider added that the chances of Affleck and Lopez restoring their relationship are slim and reiterated that “Ben is still saying he wants a divorce.” The source advised regarding the 52-year-old actor, “It seems self-destructive for him to pursue this path, and people around him are urging him to regain focus and act more intentionally rather than just following his impulses.”

While there is still a palpable physical attraction between them, conflicts remain and could lead to increasing resentment. A separate insider told In Touch that Lopez is harbouring significant resentment toward Affleck amid their split. “She’s made it clear that she won’t forgive him for being such a coldhearted jerk and ending their marriage so harshly,” they disclosed.
