Reverend Lawrence Borquaye has been inducted as the new head of Pastoral duties at the Fritz Ramseyer Memorial Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Bubuashie, Accra.
The induction ceremony marked an important step for the congregation and the PCG as Rev. Borquaye’s leadership sets a path for continued spiritual growth and a focus on upholding the church’s principles.
Preaching at the ceremony on the theme, ‘Jesus Drives Evil Spirits Away,’ Reverend Charles Adom Darkwa, North Kaneshie District Minister, emphasised the importance of worshipping God in spirit and enabling Christians to effectively combat evil forces.
Drawing from Mark 1:21-24, he highlighted the authority bestowed upon believers by Jesus to confront and expel impure spirits.
He encouraged Christians to rely on that authority rather than seeking external means for protection.
Rev. Darkwa also urged them to live morally upright lives and serve as genuine reflections of Jesus, thereby attracting non-believers to the Kingdom of God.
He called on the church to support the minister with the needed resources and respect to develop the church.
Rev. Darkwa advised Rev. Borquaye not to discriminate but love all, saying “as a father you must love all your children.”
In response, Rev. Borquaye expressed gratitude to God and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for their support.
He pledged to honour the church’s legacy as a Christ-centered and Bible-believing institution, following in the footsteps of his predecessors.
“I am ready to serve God and the church and also do my best to put measures in place to help the church to grow,” he said.
