Chelsea's mass spending has recently been at the forefront of their transfer business but they've also made some key sales.

Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital completed their takeover in 2022, the Blues' expenditure has reached nearly £1billion.

Much of their heavy spending was alleviated during the summer when they made around £232million in player sales, with 14 players leaving on permanent deals.

Kai Havertz and Mason Mount were their two biggest departures but previous deals, under previous ownership, have also seen Chelsea earn other valuable funds.

Many who left Stamford Bridge over the past decade either remained in the top-flight of English football or returned from other clubs across Europe.

And talkSPORT.com has created a Chelsea XI of players who were some of their biggest sales and still play in the Premier League.

Past top goalkeeper sales either play abroad or are retired, so Asmir Begovic is an exception - he signed for Bournemouth in a reported £10million deal in 2017 but now plays for QPR in the Championship.

At left-back, Emerson was a Champions League and Europa League winner with the Blues but is now a consistent starter for West Ham, signing in the summer for £13m.

His Hammers teammate Kurt Zouma features as the right-sided centre-back, with the Frenchman in his third season in east London after joining in a £29.8m deal.

Cobham academy graduate Marc Guehi starts to his left following his £18m move in 2021 to Crystal Palace, a club where he has made 104 appearances and been captain on 20 occasions.

Right-back Ola Aina spent 12 years at Chelsea before he signed for Torino in the Serie A for a reported £9m after an initial loan, and he is now back in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.

Sitting in defensive midfield is Jorginho, who played an important role in the Blues' 2021 Champions League success a year-and-a-half before joining rivals Arsenal in a £12m deal last January.

Joining him at the Gunners in the summer was Havertz, who plays on the left of a midfield three - he has been Chelsea's biggest sale this season having left for £65m following a three-year stint.

Another big departure and starting on the right of the midfield is Mount as the 25-year-old completed a £55m move to Manchester United, although injuries have led to limited minutes.

Kevin De Bruyne is arguably one of Chelsea's biggest ever regrettable sales - he left for Wolfsburg for just £18m and is now a treble winner at Manchester City and one of the best players in the world.

Mohamed Salah joins him as an eventual eye-opening departure as the Egyptian signed for Roma in an estimated £13m move before cementing himself as a Liverpool legend amid seven years of magic.

Finally, Timo Werner was a forward who struggled for goals at Chelsea and returned to RB Leipzig for £25.3m but is now back in England after signing a loan deal with Tottenham until the summer.

This side is stacked full of talent and trophies, with the Blues generating around £268m worth of transfer funds from their sales combined.
