FRSC officials controlling traffic
The Ondo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has warned the motorists plying the state against violating traffic rules which could lead to road accidents resulting in loss of lives.
The Ondo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Ibitoye Samuel, gave the advice on Wednesday while confirming a road accident which occurred on the Ondo-Ore Expressway at Ajue community in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday night.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the crash involved an 18-passenger Toyota Hiace bus and a truck. The two vehicles were said to have had a head-on collision leading to the bus catching fire and burning 16 of its occupants. However, three people were said to have survived the crash.
According to the state FRSC boss, the accident was caused by speeding and wrongful overtaking by the vehicles involved. He added that the crash occurred at about 8 pm but the rescue operation ended at about 11 pm.
Ibitoye said, “Investigations on what led to the accident had not been concluded. However, the preliminary investigation indicated that the crash was caused by speeding and wrongful overtaking.
The Sector Commander urged motorists to drive with caution and observe traffic rules while driving.
“Motorists should drive with care, avoid speeding and dangerous overtaking while not travelling with petrol inside jerrycans in their vehicles” Ibiloye advised.
