It was recently reported that Fulham had gone back in for Scott McTominay, but their attention has swiftly moved on to another target. To a player known to Manchester United following recent transfer links.

McTominay is a player United can afford to sell – but only at the right price. He could be replaced, for less than what he is now worth, but the Reds are right to stand their ground on their valuation of their academy graduate.

This is not a player that can be compared to the world-class Luka Modric or is he the second coming of Marco Veratti. It’s McTominay. A reliable lieutenant, who Erik ten Hag can trust, and he loves United plus has an eye for goal.

According to Andy Jones and Peter Rutzler of The Athletic, Berge is set to become Fulham’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Ryan Sessegnon, Jorge Cuenca and Emile Smith Rowe.

Berge will likely cost Fulham somewhere in the region of £20m plus £5m in add-ons.

With a post on X, sharing the article to a broader audience, Laurie Whitwell added that this means Fulham are moving on from McTominay.

When it comes to Berge, I’m not a bit miffed because we’ve known for some time that Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte is the primary midfield target. He is the one Ten Hag wants and he’s been identified by INEOS as a good option if the Ligue 1 champions lower their price demands for his signature.

It sounds like United are letting Fulham have a free run at Berge which is telling.
