De Gea, Lookman top Serie A player player rankings
After ten weeks of Serie A action, Fiorentina’s goalkeeper, David De Gea, has emerged as the top-rated player, with Nigerian star Ademola Lookman of Atalanta not far behind in the top 10.
According to Fantacalcio on Thursday, the rankings are based on player ratings across Italian sports papers, considering players with at least half of the league’s appearances.
Fiorentina’s recent 1-0 victory over Genoa saw De Gea play a crucial role, continuing his stellar form that’s propelled him to the top with an impressive rating of 6.86.
Meanwhile, Lookman has consistently delivered for Atalanta, ranking sixth with a 6.64 rating. His dynamic play has bolstered Atalanta’s attack, helping them secure third place with 19 points alongside Fiorentina in the Serie A standings.
Following De Gea, Italian international Mateo Retegui is in second place with a 6.75, thanks to his scoring prowess for Atalanta, while Inter’s Marcus Thuram follows close with a 6.7 rating as Serie A’s second-highest scorer.
Other notable mentions include Lazio’s Valentin Castellanos and Milan’s Christian Pulisic, both sitting at 6.56.
