FUNAAB visits family of kidnapped 300l student who was killed in Lagos

The management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has paid a condolence visit to the family of its late student Christiana Idowu.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Idowu a 300-level student of the Department of Pure and Applied Botany was abducted and killed, days after her family members reported that she had gone missing.

According to reports, she was said to have been abducted between Itaoluwo and Yaba on her way to UNILAG where she does her IT.

The suspected captor, Ayomide Adeleye, a 200-level student of Philosophy at the Olabisi Onabanjo University is currently in the custody of security agencies following his alleged involvement in the abduction and murder of Idowu.

Reacting the development, the acting head of the directorate of public relations Olasunkanmi Olajide, in a statement on Friday disclosed that a delegation led by the deputy vice-chancellor (academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, and the Student Union president, Ibraheem Adeyemi, visited the family on Friday to condole with the bereaved mother and other family members.

“This act of violence must not go unanswered. We call on the Nigeria Police Force to expedite their investigation and ensure that justice is not delayed,” the statement said.
