Funke Akindele Shares Star-studded Cast For New Movie, ‘Finding Me’

The 46 years old took to her Instagram account on, May 29th,  to introduce her cast with the caption, “FINDING ME

This announcement follows a series of teaser reels of each cast featuring in a dance transition video with different attires, after which ends the video, donning “Finding Me” T-shirts.  The filmmaker who gradually unveiled the cast through Instagram reels, has been sharing the video reels throughout the month of May.

The cast includes top Nollywood stars, such as Femi Adebayo, Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin, Shaffy Bello, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Joseph Benjamin, Emeka Nwagbaraocha, Sharon Ooja Egwurube, Omoni Oboli, among others. Despite the excitement surrounding the cast, details about the film’s plot and its exact release date remain undisclosed.

The announcement of the upcoming movie comes on the heels of a disappointing run at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) for the actress cum film maker’s previous project titled, A Tribe Called Judah.

The movie, despite it numerous nominations, failed to secure any wins at the award ceremony. Additionally, Funke, who was nominated for Best Lead Actress, lost to Kehinde Bankole, who took home the award for her role in Adire.

The cast for Funke’s record-setting movie A Tribe Called Judah includes Funke Akindele as Jedidah Judah, Timini Egbuson as Pere Judah, Olumide Oworu as Ejiro Judah, Uzee Usman as Adamu Judah, Tobi Makinde as Shina Judah, and Jide Kene Achufusi as Emeka Judah.

Others are Ebelle Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini, Boma Akpore, Paschaline Alex, Etinosa Idemudia, Juliana Olayode and Yvonne Jegede.
