Gabbi Tuft looks back on her return to the ring.
Gabbi Tuft began her comeback with a trip to the Rhodes Wrestling Academy in October 2023. In the months following, Tuft made trips to several other training grounds, including the KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, Chavo Guerrero’s California-based gym, and Natalya Neidhart’s gym known as The Dungeon 2.0. While speaking with the Orlando Sentinel, Tuft reflected on her rigorous training journey, which later paved the way for her official in-ring return in June 2024.
“I owe a lot to Nattie (Neidhart) and Tyson [Kidd],” Tuft said. “I spent hours and hours there (at the Dungeon in Florida) in a gym that felt like a sweatbox. They said if you could make it through the Dungeon, you could make it through anything, and they were right.”
Tuft also noted that she previously presented Natalya and Tyson Kidd (aka TJ Wilson) with storyline and move ideas for her comeback match. “They gave it a thumbs up,” Tuft said, “and (Tyson) made only one little change, which I added.”
Tuft’s in-ring return took place at a collaborative show, titled Killin’ Them Softly, between West Coast Pro and UWN on June 25. There, Tuft defeated J-Rod in a 19-minute match during the show’s main event. J-Rod is a notable graduate of the KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, which is run by WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi.
“The first match was my WrestleMania. It was my redebut, my moment in the spotlight, and everything was flawless…” Tuft said. “But this is only the beginning of Mother’s story.”
