Gabe Kidd opens up about his feud with Kenny Omega.

Omega, a former AEW World Champion, has been sidelined since December 2023 due to diverticulitis. He underwent surgery in May. At NJPW Power Struggle, he made a special appearance and said that he wanted to wrestle at NJPWx AEW Wrestle Dynasty. Backstage, he got into an altercation with NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd after they previously took shots at each other.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Gabe Kidd discussed the incident.

“I was trying to talk to him off-camera. I knew where he was gonna be after he got off the mic, so I was like, I’ve never met him before, I’m gonna go and speak to him,” Gabe Kidd said. “Then they hear something happening, they go and interrupt, and there’s was somebody else filming as well. I just went to talk to him, I’ve never spoke to the guy before in my life, I had mentioned his name when I was drunk on Twitter. Ad he wrote some paragraph back to me about, ‘Oh, maybe if you’re lucky and win the G1, I’ll bless you with the Kenny Omega touch.’

“I was like, ‘You think I give a f*ck about you, geezer?’ I was just saying it because I knew there are some people that would love to watch me batter you. So I wasn’t trying to do anything, and I told him, before anything, I’m a man. I don’t mess around with this pro wrestling stuff. You mess up my name intentionally, they think they’re acting so cool when they get my name wrong, when they obviously know it, and they’re just trying to act cool in front of another bunch of uncool people, which are their fans. So it’s just funny to me.”

Gabe Kidd On Kenny Omega’s NJPW Return

Kidd continued by noting that he had never met Omega before. He also commented on NJPW’s relationship with AEW.

“I never met him before, so I don’t know if he’s heard stories or spoke to people about me, but I don’t f*ck around, and I don’t f*ck around with people trying to disrespect me,” Kidd said. “We’re supposed to be in a collaboration with AEW. What kind of collaboration is that? When they just bring their guys over for our big stuff, and we go over there for what, Ring of Honor? Are you mad? I’m a f*cking famous wrestler.”

Kidd went on to highlight how Omega came back to NJPW before he returned to AEW, and he called Omega a liar because he knew that NJPW as the best.

“He came back to New Japan before he came back to his workplace,” Kidd said. “How does that work out? Because he knows New Japan is number one. He knows where the best wrestling is. He said in his promo, he said that New Japan is where the best wrestling is, New Japan is number one, he said that. So first of all, he’s lying to all these people that are backing him. What kind of role model is that? Little idiot.”

“If you want to be in a collaboration with us, fine. But come to Japan, and I will slap the shit out of any if you, especially that knobhead, talking about me being unprofessional. He ran to the press, trying to say, ‘Oh, I don’t want to wrestle him. He’s unprofessional.’ Come on, man.”

Gabe Kidd On Kenny Omega Not Being Cleared

Kidd was asked about Omega not being cleared for competition yet, and he made it clear that he did not care. He emphasized that Omega shouldn’t have been talking trash. He also insulted Omega for being sidelined for so long.

“I don’t give a shit if he’s not cleared,” Gabe Kidd. “I don’t give a shit if it’s not cleared, he shouldn’t have been talking shit. [Sapp said Omega has diverticulitis]. I don’t give a shit what he had. All I know is he had some stomach injury that has put him out for a year. That’s bitch move. Hiverticultis, I don’t care, he’s gonna wish that that killed him off.

“He’s gonna wish that Hiverticultis killed him off if he gets in the ring with me. The beating that I put on him is gonna be ridiculous, man. He’s a f*cking prick, and an unprofessional one at that, little bitch.”
