Galatasray are in talks with Manchester United over a loan move for Casemiro, according to reports in Turkey.
While the Premier League transfer window slammed shut last Friday, Turkish Super Lig clubs remain free to do business until 13 September.
Casemiro endured a huilating afternoon at Old Trafford on Sunday against Liverpool, at fault for two goals in a disatrous first-half display.
The Brazil international also suffered the indignity of being hauled off at half-time, replaced by 20-year-old Toby Collyer with Erik ten Hag forced to deny reports the midfielder left the stadium during the break.
Signs of Casemiro’s decline were evident last season but United were unable to offload him in the summer with his pre-season seeing ten Hag keep the faith.
But Sunday’s performance and the arrival of Manuel Ugarte could push him out of the first-team with Galatasaray reportedly ready to make an offer.
Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük reports the Turkish giants are keen to sign the former Real Madrid star on a season-long loan deal as they seek to strengthen their own options in the middle of the park.
While The Premier League transfer window is closed, players are still free to leave clubs from these shores.
Galatsaray have already strengthened their squad since the closure of the English window, signing Victor Osimhen on loan from Napoli after his deadline day move to Chelsea failed to go through.
Despite his worrying form, any move for Casemiro would leave United short of options in midfield.
Ugarte, a £51million signing from Paris Saint-Germain is expected to come into the side to join Kobbie Mainoo but ten Hag has warned it could be a number of weeks before the Uruguay international is fully up to speed.
Collyer is highly-regarded at Old Trafford but is a young and inexperienced option with Christian Eriksen also part of the squad.
The rest of the United squad is thought to have rallied around Casemiro following Sunday’s horror show.
‘You know the game and he knows the game. He will go on and we will go on.
Ten Hag also remained firmly behind his player.
‘He’s a great player. We will continue this season to improve the team and the players.
‘He improved and has shown so often that he is a great character. He has won everything in his career.
‘We all have seen great moments from him and him be decisive in midfield. He will show that again and will bounce back.’
