Following their Turkish Super Lig triumph, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has revealed that he sees Barcelona midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as his ‘dream signing’ and will consider making a move for the veteran midfielder.

Gundogan, 33, arrived at Barça last year, joining as a free agent after his contract at Manchester City expired.

Even though the season did not go down well collectively for the Catalans, Gundogan excelled in his debut campaign and has become an integral member of the team.

But, it appears that Galatasaray president Ozbek is a huge admirer of the German international and might test the waters over a summer move for the midfield general.

Ozbek believes that the Turkish champions need three top signings in the summer to compete in the UEFA Champions League.

And one of the players that he is targeting is Barcelona veteran Gundogan, as per SPORT, with the German international seen as a ‘dream signing’ by the Galatasaray president.

It must be remembered that there were rumours of interest in Gundogan from Galatasaray before he joined Barcelona as well.

Furthermore, the Turkish heavyweights were once again linked with a move for the 33-year-old midfielder during the 2023/24 campaign, forcing Gundogan’s agent to come out and deny the speculations.

The midfielder has a contract with Barcelona until 2025 with an option for an additional year.

With Hansi Flick set to become manager, it is extremely unlikely that Gundogan would consider leaving Barça this summer.
