Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has given his verdict on a poor Manchester United performance in Sunday’s  3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United were easily beaten with Erik ten Hag’s side looking far from their best with Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs side finding space to create several big chances at Old Trafford.

Just before Half time It became a tougher task for Ten Hag’s Red Devils to gain a result after Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a late challenge on James Maddison after losing his footing.

It may have been a harsh decision for Fernandes to see but the Red Devils were already struggling to find their feet against Postecoglou’s side.

Fernandes will miss games against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham United.

Gary Neville gives honest verdict on Bruno Fernandes red card

Neville was a frustrated voice commentating on Sky Sports and couldn’t believe teh performance levels of Ten Hag’s Manchester United side.

Speaking on Sky Sports as quoted by the Mirror, Neville said: “It just sums up Manchester United in this first half, to be fair they’ve been an absolute disgrace.

“It’s one of the worst performances I’ve seen in Erik ten Hag’s time at Manchester United and that’s saying something.

“It’s been really bad. And he will not be able to believe what he’s watched. I’m not talking patterns of play, I’m talking application to a football match. And now, his captain sent off.

“When players react like that, it means something has gone on that we haven’t seen initially. He’s gone knee high Bruno Fernandes. I think he slips just before the tackle but he’s not going to get away with it.”
