Jean-Louis Gasset, the OM coach, sought to calm the enthusiasm after his team’s brilliant victory against Villarreal.

OM negotiated their round of 16 first leg of the Europa League perfectly. Opposed to Villarreal at the Vélodrome, the Olympians struggled. Superior in all departments, they won 4-0. A result which inevitably pleased their coach, Jean-Louis Gasset.

“Yes, I had fun, especially the 1e halftime where we did almost everything wellhe confided after the match at the microphone of Canal+. We said we had to go up a notch in each match. And against a team that played well on the ball, we had to press from the start. We did everything we had to do to be in front.”

Gasset does not want any relaxation

Since he took charge of this team, there have been nothing but victories. Four in four matches and also an impressive total of 16 goals scored. Enough to revise ambitions upwards. “We are going up, we are progressing. Now, we must not relax”warned Gasset.

Finally, the former coach of Cote d’Ivoire also welcomed the clean sheet which was ensured. “ From the start we had the right mindset, but the technique was average. We conceded avoidable goals. There, technically, we were good and we didn’t concede a goal, that’s important.”
