Italian coach Gennaro Gattuso still believes he can lead his OM team into the Champions League.

OM is only 7e in the Ligue 1 standings. This is quite far from the places giving access to the next Champions League. However, the Marseille team still has this objective in mind. Gennaro Gattuso, his trainer, is even certain he can do it. And this despite the current disappointing dynamic.

“I think we can fight for the Champions League. We have all the tools to be able to study and fight with our adversaries. I already knew these teams and we, what we need is for us to have this consistency, this continuity in our performances….” confided the transalpine coach.

Gattuso confident for the future

Gattuso continued by expressing his certainty that his training will gain strength as the weeks go by. “I think we have not yet managed to exploit the full potential of this team. Afterwards, when we are in 3-5-2 or 4-3-3, the way we position ourselves on the pitch is different, but also the characteristics of the players are different.”

El Rino added by saying that it is on the offensive level that his troops must improve the most. “I think we can improve in the opposing half. It’s true that we also lacked a little quality with the players who were absent at the CAN, but when we even see the match against Monaco, even if we managed to get out of this first pressing, after on the first or second ball, we had difficulty verticalizing, finding Veretout. So there you have it, I think that with the ball, we still have room for improvement in terms of this exit from the first pressing on the verticalization and I think that the team has the potential to do it. »
