WWE Hall of Famer JBL has been making unexpected appearances at several independent wrestling events, signaling his return to the wrestling scene beyond WWE. The owner of GCW has now commented on JBL’s future following these recent debuts.

In the past few weeks, JBL has been making headlines by appearing at several high-profile events. He first made an appearance alongside Nic Nemeth at AAA’s Triplemania event, followed by shocking return at GCW’s Homecoming event, where he delivered a devastating punch and two Clotheslines from Hell to Effy.

GCW owner Brett Lauderdale talked about JBL’s recent appearance on The Business of the Business podcast. He mentioned that JBL and he share a mutual friend, though he chose not to name them. Lauderdale expressed his admiration for JBL and noted that GCW is a welcoming place for former WWE stars exploring the independent circuit.

While there are no scheduled or announced plans for JBL’s next appearance with GCW, Lauderdale expressed hope that JBL will return in the future.

”I’m a big fan of J.B.L. and who’s not? JBL and I have a mutual friend, who will remain unnamed, and it’s one of those things, JBL is not exclusive to — what am I trying to say here? GCW kind of has a reputation for guys like JBL where, you know, when they’re kind of dipping their foot into the independent world for the first time, they wanna go somewhere they know they can have fun, somewhere that is going to treat them with respect and present them with respect… It’s somewhere where they know it’s gonna get the attention it deserves and they’re gonna be well-represented. So, that being said, like I said, we had a mutual friend and I had good conversation with JBL and yeah, I think JBL is interested in going out and having some fun right now so, GCW is one of those places where guys like him can have fun.

Well, I can’t say (if JBL will be back in GCW or not). I mean, I can say that I hope so. But, there’s nothing scheduled or announced at the moment but I would love to see JBL come back, at some point.”

We have also reported that JBL’s indie appearances did not require WWE’s approval. Regardless, we will have to wait and see if JBL will make more appearances in GCW somewhere down the line, as fans would love to see that happen.
