The arrival of Mario Balotelli at Genoa is more imminent than ever. The highly sought-after striker in the team Alberto Gilardino is in fact undergoing the ritual medical examinations and he has already posed with the Grifone jersey: “I’m excited, honestly, I don’t really want to talk, I want to start. What if I have fire inside? You’ll see, come on… I wanted to see the supporters at the stadium. Let’s hope everything goes well, I’ll give it my all. When will I be ready? I hope soon“, he said this Monday upon his arrival in the Ligurian city. Accompanied by his brother Enock, his personal sports trainer and the medical staff of Genoa, Mario Balotelli presented himself at the sports center to sign his contract and in the afternoon he will carry out his first training session under the orders by Gilardino.

The Rossoblu coach is very satisfied, but he expects a decisive change of direction from the team to reverse the difficult start to the season: “Balotelli’s history speaks for him, but he cannot solve Genoa’s problems alone. It’s normal that if he arrives with the fire to make himself available in the middle he can be an asset for his technical quality, he can give us personality, but he will come after a period of inactivity and we hope that he can quickly be at the top“. For SuperMario, who returns to Serie A after his adventure at Brescia in 2019/20 in Italy, his last experience took place at Monza during the 2020/21 season, a contract is ready until June 2025 along with a salary of 400,000 euros gross linked to bonuses and appearances, in which there would be a release clause linked to certain conditions. Genoa can terminate the contract before December 31 if it is not satisfied with its performance.
