George Lopez has shared a big update about his comedy career. The 63-year-old comedian and actor made an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show this week and announced he would be retiring from doing stand up comedy. Over the summer, George ended a comedy set early while performing in California. Keep reading to find out more… “It is the last one. I’ve subjected the American people to enough of my crap,” he told host Tamron Hall. “It seems like the right time; it’s been the one thing that has just never left me my whole life and it’s a wonderful place to leave it at this particular point.” The “last one” George is referring to is his upcoming Prime Video special, which was just filmed September 27th and 28th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood as part of his ALLLRIIIIGHHTTT! Comedy Tour. A release date for the comedy special has not been revealed at this time. George noted that one reason he’s leaving stand up is to spend more time with daughter Mayan, who he co-created the NBC comedy Lopez Vs Lopez and stars in with.
