Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has urged Mason Greenwood to maintain his performance levels for a full 90 minutes after the Manchester United loanee scored his 10th goal of the season in a win over Granada on Monday evening.

Greenwood scored the opener for Getafe in a 2-0 win that keeps them 10th in La Liga – ending their run of back-to-back defeats in La Liga to record their first win of 2024 in the Spanish top-flight.

The 22-year-old has made a great impression on the pitch in Spain, while keeping a low profile off it, and his performance last night was praised by Spanish newspaper AS: “The Englishman is one of those footballers for whom it is worth paying a ticket.”

Furthermore, Greenwood was rated by FotMob as the best player on the pitch with a 8.3 rating.

After the match, Getafe head coach urged the young forward to do more to help his team-mates.

Bprdalas said (as per The Metro): “He is a great player but everyone has a job. We are very happy with the work from Greenwood, Borja, Maxi but without everyone’s work he cannot shine.

“Greenwood had a great first half, although not so much in the second half.

“But everyone has worked for the team. They were aware of the importance of the game and finally we achieved it.”
