An Islamic scholar and Researcher, Dr Abdul-Mushin Baafi, was last Saturday honoured in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by Aabar Al-Sanad Foundation, for his outstanding achievement in the academia.
Dr Adel Abdallah Al Asiri, Chief Executive Officer of the foundation presented a citation crown, certificate of honour, copy of Holy Qur’an, among other gifts to Dr Baafi at a ceremony in Jeddah.
Dr Baafi recently received doctorate degree with excellence in Information Technology and Islamic Studies from the Rabbaniyin International University in the US, becoming the first Ghanaian to receive PhD in that field.
A citation in his honour lauded him for his remarkable achievement “we are pleased to extend our highest expression of congratulations and blessings. We wish you success in your academic and professional life. God grant you success and guide your steps on the path of life.”
Dr Baafi in receiving the honours expressed appreciation to the executives of Al-Sanad Foundation for recognising his feat, and promised to work harder to achieve more academic laurel and make it beneficial to humanity.
The title of his doctorate thesis is “The role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing the Retrieval of Islamic Knowledge: A case study on Hadith Classification and Analysis.”
The Rabbaniyin International University is an international scientific and cultural institution dedicated to the dissemination of Islamic and legal sciences.
Dr Baafi, Imam and Preacher based in Kumasi is the Chief Executive Officer of Hybrid Learning-Edge Limited and Leading-Edge Foundation that is committed to humanitarian and charitable service.
He studied Information Technology at University of Education Winneba in Kumasi via NIIT College and obtained his master’s degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, College of Science, Department of Information Technology.
Dr Baafi undertook further studies at the Faculty of Sharia at the Islamic University of Madina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he attended lessons of famous scholars of the Madinah Prophetic Mosque, such as: Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Abbad Badr, Sheikh Abu Bakr Al-Jazairi, of blessed memory, Sheikh Mukhtar Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Shanqeeti and many others.
