Scorer and decisive passer with AC Milan during the clash against Roma (3-1), Olivier Giroud reached the 10-goal mark in Serie A for the third season in a row. He becomes the first Rossoneri player to do so since Alexandre Pato in 2011!
Despite his advanced age, Olivier Giroud fully marks his time at AC Milan. The 2018 world champion was not only ultra-decisive during the Rossoneri’s title in 2022, at the end of his first season in Lombardy, he showed remarkable consistency under the red and black tunic. Even this season, at 37 years old.
Sunday, during the clash against AS Roma at San Siro, won 3-1, the center forward scored his 10th goal in Serie A this season. A hell of a performance, because no player from the Lombard club had had three seasons with 10 goals in the league since Alexandre Pato in 2011. Not even Zlatan Ibrahimovic (who spent two seasons at Milan before joining PSG in 2012).
The ACM consolidated its 3rd place (9 points behind Inter, the all-powerful leader) thanks to three French players, since Yacine Adli first opened the scoring with a beautiful strike (11th). Giroud doubled the lead with a header at the start of the second half (56th) before being the decisive passer for Théo Hernandez, author of a terrible strike (84th) which definitively stunned José Mourinho’s team, only 9th in the Italian rankings . It was Leandro Paredes who saved the honor from the penalty spot (69th)
