UK pop-rock group The 1975 and U.S. singer-songwriter and actress Olivia Rodrigo will headline Glastonbury this summer alongside previously announced Heart of Gold legend Neil Young.
Charli XCX, who was feted at the Brit Awards over the weekend in five categories including best artist and album, will top the bill on the festival’s second stage, or Other Stage.
‘Chocolate’ and ‘Somebody Else’ hitmakers The 1975, who have played Glastonbury in other sections several times before, will make their debut on the festival’s main Pyramid stage as the headline act on the Friday.
Olivia Rodrigo, who made waves on the Other Stage in 2022 in a set which saw her decry the then recent U.S. Supreme Court overturning of Roe v Wade, will top the bill on the Pyramid stage on Sunday.
Previously announced Neil Young will play the main stage with his Chrome Hearts band on the Sunday night, while Rod Stewart is set for the Sunday afternoon “legend slot”.
Young caused a brief stir in January when he announced he was cancelling his Glastonbury appearance due to his understanding that the event was under the “corporate control” of the BBC.
Two days later, he back-peddled saying his move to ditch the festival had been due to “an error in information” and that the Glastonbury was back on his upcoming touring schedule.
Other acts confirmed for the five-day festival, running from June 25 to 29 on Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, include Alanis Morissette, Busta Rhymes, Doechii, Fatboy Slim, Supergrass, Ezra Collective, Gary Numan, Scissor Sisters, The Prodigy and The Libertines
