Glen Powell went on the “Therapuss with Jake Shane” podcast and told a story that had fans quite alarmed…but some called the story’s authenticity into question.

If you didn’t see, on the podcast, Glen shared, “You want to hear a crazy story? My little sister was friends with a girl who went on a date with a guy. They’re hanging out, and he’s super charming. They have a great night, and she goes back to his apartment that night and he’s like, ‘Hey, can I give you a massage?’ As she got back to his apartment, she started getting weird vibes. Something feels off,” he said on the podcast episode.

He continued, “So, he starts massaging her shoulders. Everything just feels odd. She’s like, ‘I gotta get out of here.’ It’s a little weird, he’s like, ‘Please don’t leave.’ She leaves.”

Glen added, “Her skin starts itching like crazy the next day. She goes to the doctor, and he does a test on her skin. It turns out it’s a black market lotion that breaks down skin for human consumption. This man was rubbing lotion on her body to eat her. The doctor is like you have to give me this person’s address and you should call the police. They go to this guy’s house, and he had several bodies in the house.”

While some were rightfully terrified when they heard the story, others claimed they had read it before on sites like Reddit, and that it’s only an urban legend. Internet detectives found evidence of the story from all the way back in 2001, meaning, it seems that Glen‘s sister’s friend was telling an urban legend!

When Glen saw the news that the story was fake, he wrote on X, “Props to my little sister’s friend who told her this dating story … I’ve been telling this for years. I’m questioning my whole life now … False alarm. Back rubs are back.”

Glen recently revealed the six big movie roles he auditioned for but did not get.
