Glen Powell may be one of the most in-demand movie stars in Hollywood these days, but his days living in the town are over. The 35-year-old actor says that he has sold his Hollywood Hills home and is moving to Texas after more than 15 years of living in Los Angeles. So, what are Glen‘s plans for Texas life? Keep reading to find out more… “Getting to this point in Hollywood is that I can now leave Hollywood,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s like I’ve earned the ability to go back to my family.” Glen plans on finishing his college degree at the University of Texas in Austin and being closer to his family. He credits Matthew McConaughey‘s advice as the catalyst for the move. “He’s like, ‘Hollywood is the Matrix, man. You plug in and it’s all fake world,’” Glen told THR. “He’s like, ‘Then I go to Austin, and I unplug. It’s all real. Those are my friends, that’s my family, my actions matter there.’ And he’s right. If you’re here, you live in the Matrix all the time, there’s no separation of those worlds. And for me, especially as my parents get older and my niece and nephew are growing up, I want a separation of those worlds.” Glen bought a home that is 30 minutes away from his parents and will call that “home,” even if he spends more nights away for work.
