Zinwe and Zion, a couple who recently exited the Big Brother Naija house, have shared their reflections on the experience, emphasizing that their relationship is not ending because of the challenges they faced on the show or because they have been evicted.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, Zinwe said that their time in the house has been a learning experience for them as a couple.
“It was a learning experience going into Big Brother as a couple. We didn’t start the relationship based on Big Brother, so it won’t end because of it. We are still standing strong. You know, the plan was to do the entire months. But we left when we did and I believe everything happens for a reason. Divine orchestration is at play here. So, we have made peace with that.
“Right now, we’re in a good place. Right now, I mean, like you said, the rocky days were in the second and third week. We had an extra week four in the house. We’ve had time to also discuss, communicate, you know, between ourselves, and we’re actually in a good place right now. Of course, we came out to lots of criticism and scrutiny on our relationship. And going into the house, we expected this part of play, you know.
“So, amidst the scrutiny, amidst the hot takes and suggestions regarding us breaking up, we’re still together. We’re still in a good place, and we’re trying to block out the noise, she continued, Chinwe added.
Zion on his part said, “If you don’t have rocky roads in a relationship, that means your relationship is not healthy, per se. Firstly, I have already said that it is a seemingly new and fresh relationship. We’re still learning about each other. Those rocky roads are big learning processes that we must go through to learn about each other. And if they don’t happen, we’ll just be playing in a relationship, and that’s not what we’re about.
We’re both real people, and that’s what’s shown in the house.”
“BBN has had positive impacts on our relationship because going in as a couple in Biggie’s house has allowed us to confront situations that face us as a couple. And having gone through that and working our way through it, it has made us stronger. It’s a learning experience going into Big Brother as a couple. And a positive impact as well. You’d learn patience. You’d learn resilience in having to hold yourself back,” they both chorused.
As for the future, Zinwe and Zion remain tight-lipped about their plans but hinted at more opportunities in the entertainment industry. “Expect the whole nine yards, acting gigs, hosting gigs, presenting, and more. We’re going to be on your screens a lot more.”
Regarding the possibility of marriage, Zinwe responded, “Just watch out and see. We’re not spilling any tea here.”
