This might be any kind of surprise, including someone making either a debut or a return. We saw that again this week, and now we know some rather interesting details about someone who was making their return to a show.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not So Fast? AEW Makes Somewhat Strange Switch To Revolution Card
Earlier this week, Shawn Spears made his return to NXT, attacking Ridge Holland. This marked Spears’ first appearance for WWE since his release in 2019, with a stint in AEW in between. According to Fightful Select, Spears’ return was kept a secret from almost everyone in NXT. Internal documents listed Holland’s attacker as “Quote Man”, referencing a series of vignettes featuring mysterious quotes in recent weeks. Shawn Michaels filled Spears’ role during rehearsals earlier in the day. Spears is believed to have been signed to a new deal around Vengeance Day, earlier this month.
