Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, has revealed that the Governors elected on the platform of the party would intervene in the crisis rocking the major opposition party.
The Bauchi State Governor said they would work with relevant organs of the party to resolve the suspension crisis in the national working committee of the party.
Mohammed made the promise on Friday when he played host to the North-east stakeholders of the party led by Ambassador Umar Damagum who were on a solidarity visit at the Government House, Bauchi.
According to him, the crisis in the PDP including all legal disputes would be resolved in a bid to ensure the PDP reclaims power at the federal level in 2027.
The Bauchi State Governor also appreciated Ambassador Damagun and all the PDP stakeholders in the region for their support of him as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and promised to live up to expectations by uniting the party.
Speaking earlier, Damagun said the informal visit to the governor was to discuss issues in the party.
He assured Mohammed that he has the support of the PDP leadership and members in the Northeast to continue as the chairman of the Governors’ Forum.
He also expressed optimism that the party would resolve all pending issues before the next general elections.
“PDP is the only surviving party in the country, and we will re-organise ourselves to be strong to take over the affairs of the country,” Damagun said.
